Landslides and other dangerous slope movements in the Czech Republic are responsible for serious material damage or even casualties. Regarding its geological structure of West Carpathian flysch rock it is the eastern part of republic which suffers most. Movements which develop on natural slopes are activated by climatically conditioned factors. Prognostic landslide susceptibility maps 1 : 10 000 are constructed for environmental and building planning.
