Second part of serial is focussed on ecology of C4 plants. C4 photosynthesis may produce majority of plant biomass in warm and mildly dry regions. This is primary reason for their enormous importance, both for ecosystems and for humankind. Relationship between C4 crop/vegetation and human will be explored in last part of the serial. Now, general ecology and cues advantaging C4 photosynthesis will be described. List of C4 species of Czech Republic flora is shown.
