The sequencing of human genome was finished 10 years ago. It was welcomed with tremendous expactations. But have these expactations been met? A decade of human genome studies has brought a number of surprises and first applications in diagnosis and treatment of illnesses. However, the detailed understanding of the information deposited in the genome sequence has not been reached.
