Energy industry on the crossroad by Ivan Beneš.

The period of fossil energy sources exhaustion is closer than we are willing to admit. We live with a high level of uncertainty how to cover future energy needs of the European population. Development and implementation of new energy technologies, which could replace the use of classical sources of fossil fuels, require relatively long period and high costs. The article discusses some factors responsible for slow replacement of shrinking fossil sources of energy. This is in a sharp contrast with fast advance of fossil energy sources use in 19th century.
